How to Return your Ballot
Voters who use an Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot shall return their printed ballot in the Official Return Envelope.
There are multiple options on how to return your ballot:
- By mail, remember no postage is necessary
- In person at any Vote by Mail drop box location
- At any Vote Center in L.A. County
If your ballot is postmarked by Election Day and received within 7 days (EC, § 1605(d).) by our Department we will process, verify and count that ballot.

Missing your Official Return Envelope?
Voters missing their Official Return Envelope can:
- Print, complete, and return the Ballot Oath Form with your voted ballot
- Include the Ballot Oath Form with the printed ballot cards in your own envelope
- Mail the voted ballot with the Ballot Oath Form to:

Review Your Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot
An accessible Vote by Mail Ballot allows voters the ability to access, read and mark their ballots privately and independently on their personal devices. Once the voter has reviewed their selections, they must print the ballot and place it in the Official Return Envelope and return by mail or drop it off at any Drop Box or Vote Center in L.A. County.

- What if I do not have my Vote by Mail return envelope?
Please call 1-800-815-2666 or email votebymail@rrcc.lacounty.gov to request a new Vote by Mail packet.
- How do I return my completed Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot?
Either mail your ballot so that it is postmarked on or before election day, or drop your ballot at a drop box or vote center by 8 PM on Election Day. For a list of locations visit LAVOTE.GOV.
- When do I need to return my completed Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot?
Ballots must be received or postmarked by 8 PM PST on Election Day.
