Notary Journal Surrender
Effective July 1, 2011, the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorder/County Clerk shall begin collecting a $10 journal surrender fee at the time of surrender pursuant to Los Angeles County Code 2.32.202. Notary Journal surrenders can be submitted to any of the District Offices or Norwalk. View locations.
The first page of the Notary Journal(s) must be filled out with the Notary Name, commission number, expiration date, and Address for identification and indexing purposes.
Notary Journal Search Requests
In accordance with GC section 26850, a $5 search fee will be collected for all Notary Journal search requests for each name. A notary search is not provided on the same day, requests may take 5 to 7 days. You will be notified via telephone of the results to allow you to come to our office and view the Journal Book(s); the books will be available for viewing for 5 days after the initial call. There is a $2 fee per page for copies of any journal entry. In the event information is not located a Certificate of Fact of Non-Filing can be purchased for $27, you must notify the clerk at the time the form is filled out if one will be needed.

We do not accept:
- E-Checks
- Temporary checks
- Foreign checks (with the exception of Canada and Mexico)
If an E-Check, temporary or foreign check is received, the request will be rejected and sent back to the submitter requesting a new method of payment.
