Civil Ceremony Information

All civil ceremonies are by appointment only and must be prepaid. Ceremonies are done at all RR/CC offices. An appointment will not be given until you have your marriage license. At the time you purchase your license you can schedule your ceremony if you intend to have one with us. If you already have your license and need to schedule a ceremony, please call 1-800-201-8999, Option 1, Option 2. Please have your license with you when you call.

The ceremony fee is $35. You may reschedule one time. If you need to reschedule again a new fee will be required.

All ceremonies are scheduled for 15 minutes. You will be given the room capacity depending upon the location you choose.

Outside ministers/officiants are not allowed to do ceremonies in our chapels.

Express Marriage Ceremonies *NOW AVAILABLE* 

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) is now offering express marriage ceremonies by appointment ONLY. This service is ideal for couples seeking a simple, quick, and cost-effective marriage process.

Once the Marriage License application is completed, select an appointment for “Marriage License and Express Ceremony.” Appointments are set for 45 minutes and available at all seven RR/CC branch locations. 

All express ceremonies require valid identification and one witness to be present at the Marriage License window. Any family and friends will need to wait outside. If the couple does not have a witness, the RR/CC can provide a witness for a fee of $20. Confidential Marriage Licenses do not require a witness.

A Marriage License is Required
